The King has received an official welcome to Balmoral Castle today at a small ceremony outside the Castle gates.

King Charles inspected a Guard of Honour formed by the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

He also met their mascot, Shetland Pony Corporal Cruachan IV.

The King surprised a group of cyclists who were going for a ride around Balmoral when he stopped to talk to them.

The monarch was hiking alone on the Scottish estate over the summer when he passed the mountain bikers, who happened to be filming during the unlikely encounter.

Wearing a flat cap and brown padded jacket and carrying a walking stick, the King chatted to the group about the weather and reminisced on some of his childhood memories on the estate with his family.

In footage posted to YouTube by Andrew McAvoy, a professional mountain biker from Lochgilphead, in Scotland, the King can be heard asking the men if they had cycled around the estate before – joking that they were probably “old hands”.

The King was spotted enjoying what appeared to be a glass of Pimm's as he attended a reception on the flight deck of the Royal Navy Frigate HMS Iron Duke.

His Majesty donned both sunglasses and an umbrella as he and Queen Camilla braved the changeable weather during the visit, which aimed to highlight the defence ties between the UK and France.

This homeowner allowed us to explore his massive river cave in his backyard and we couldn't believe what was inside it!

This is one of the craziest things we have seen in our life. This 280 foot waterfall inside this cave did not disappoint.

In 1965, four men illegally ventured into a hole for a thrilling SCUBA diving adventure. Tragically, they never resurfaced, prompting a search mission. Claustrophobia, the fear of enclosed spaces, played a significant role in the divers' decisions. On June 20, 1965, Jim Houtz and his partner embarked on a rescue mission. They encountered a formidable challenge due to the strong currents, a small entrance, and an unknown depth in the treacherous "Infinity Room". This mission, however, confirmed that the cavern system's depth extended to at least 1,247 feet (380 m) from the surface.
