ULEZ was the 'right' decision, says London Mayor Sadiq Khan

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has defended his controversial ULEZ scheme despite it being blamed for Labour's loss in the Uxbridge by-election.

He said: "I am quite clear though, the policy to expand the Ultra Low Emission Zone is the right one. It was a difficult decision to take. But just like nobody will accept drinking dirty water, why accept dirty air?"

ULEZ is the controversial plan to expand the zone where people have to pay a £12.50 daily fee to drive in London if their car does not meet emission standards.
