Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has defended his decision to expand the controversial Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to the outer boroughs of London and said Londoners want clean air, as well as leaders taking "bold action".
Mr Khan told Sky News that air pollution causes health issues in children and adults, and also causes 4,000 premature deaths in London per year.

A video showing an attempted robbery at an Atlanta was released by Crime Stoppers in Atlanta to aid in the search for the suspect on Thursday.
It happened on Monday, July 3, according to the Atlanta Police Department, at Nail First, situated at 2625 Piedmont Rd. NE.
Surveillance footage reveals a man entering the establishment wearing a distinctive blue hat, sunglasses and blue jeans. Upon entering, the suspect immediately demanded that everyone get on the ground and hand over their money.
Despite the suspect's demands, the video shows patrons and employees choosing not to comply. Most individuals remained in their positions, seemingly unswayed by the suspect's threats. However, one woman near the door opted to exit the premises while the suspect was occupied, attempting to gain control over the situation.
The suspect, with his hand inside a bag, can be seen pacing briefly inside the establishment before ultimately deciding to leave without further confrontation. The video captures the suspect exiting the premises and fleeing the scene in a silver sedan.
In their efforts to bring the suspect to justice, the Atlanta Police Department is relying on the assistance of the public. Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the individual in the video or possesses any relevant information to come forward.

Exploring a HUGE Abandoned Book Store
In 1957 a young entrepreneur was running a printing shop out of his garage, one of the man's customers asked if he could pay his printing bill with used books instead of cash - and so began the story of this book shop that would carry on for 53 years.

The demand for books was increasing and word would quickly spread that you could have a book printed and published from this man's garage. Ultimately, over 300 writers published 467 books out of this small local print shop.
As this young publisher was racking up a respectable batch of titles as well as stacks upon stacks of used books, he and his wife opened up a new location where they would continue their publishing business as well as selling used and new books.
It is thought that at its peak the bookstore held over 1,000,000 books, and having seen the inside myself, I would say that number is accurate.
The owners of this now abandoned book store also moved into the mail order book business, as they held several hundreds of rare and out of print books. In the early 2000’s with the unavoidable digital world, they then moved into online sales as well which increased their visibility for international sales of rare books.
The man who ran the shop with his wife passed away in 2009, he passed away just weeks before his induction ceremony into the Order of Canada.
His wife tried to continue operations of the store following his passing, but being in her late 80’s and looking to retire, she put the book store up for sale. It was forced to close in on May 29th, 2011 after she was unable to find a buyer.
On June 29th, 2012 someone did buy the land and the book store, but they have no plans to re-open the book shop. Now, 10 years after they closed the doors, the windows and doors have been boarded up, the ceiling has begun to collapse and water damage has allowed mold to begin growing.
I have been asked by people, “what did it smell like in there?”, it smells exactly like you would think it does - like old books. It has warm, thick air and the rows upon rows of books give a muffled sensation when talking, there is no echo and it is eerily silent.
It is a shame that the new owners have done nothing with the contents of the building, with the increasing mold and water damage, soon it will be too late to save any of the treasures that are held within the walls of this historic Canadian institution.
The co owner and wife of the man who started this business joined her husband after she passed away in January of 2020. A life long librarian, she devoted her life to books, art and writing while running the most famous book store in all of Canada with her husband.

On October 7, Hamas, a militant group based in the Gaza Strip, launched a deadly attack on Israel, killing over 1,400 Israelis and kidnapping over 200. In retaliation, Israeli airstrikes have killed, as of this video, over 6,400 Palestinians in Gaza, where Palestinians have lived for decades under an occupation and blockade.
Since 1967, Israel has imposed tight restrictions on travel and essential goods such as food, fuel, medicine, and water in its occupied territories. In 2007, those restrictions became even tighter in Gaza after Hamas seized power there. Since then, it has been nearly impossible for Palestinians to leave Gaza or to access an adequate supply of essential goods.
Today, the Gaza Strip, with a population of over 2 million Palestinians, is a victim of what many call “collective punishment” as Israel bombards its population, shuts off access to internet, power, food, water, and medicine, forces them to leave their homes, and prepares for a ground invasion.

If you are being bullied, there are several wellbeing strategies that can help you overcome this. These include responding to the bully, talking with an adult or counselor, taking care of yourself, and meditation, prayer, or mindfulness
If you realize you have been bullying others, stop any behavior that causes someone harm and know it is never okay to purposely hurt someone. Once you have stopped these behaviors, be sure to apologize to the people you have hurt, explore new activities, develop new relationships, talk to someone about the problem, and advocate for change.

10.7.23 | BROOKLYN - In the early hours of the morning at 64 Lafayette Ave in Brooklyn, chaos erupted as a belligerent individual began hurling insults and provoking altercations with pedestrians. Police swiftly intervened, but the confrontational individual did not hesitate to direct his profanity towards the officers. Despite their efforts to defuse the situation, he continued to incite confrontations, attempting to engage in physical altercations with a group of bystanders.
The officers persistently intervened to prevent further escalation, but the individual's aggression knew no bounds. He brazenly obstructed traffic by sitting in the middle of the road, further complicating the already tense scene. Attempting to evade the authorities, he took off on a desperate sprint down the block, with the officers in hot pursuit. Although he managed to elude capture momentarily, he audaciously circled back to the initial crime scene.
However, his return did not go unnoticed by the vigilant officers, who promptly apprehended him, despite his continued verbal abuse. The entire neighborhood, agitated by his behavior, joined in the chorus of disapproval, urging the police to take decisive action. Tensions escalated further as onlookers voiced concerns of racial bias, emphasizing that if the unruly individual were of a different ethnicity, the outcome might have been more dire.
As the intoxicated individual continued to berate both the officers and civilians, his demeanor suddenly shifted, and he began to scream in apparent distress. Recognizing the need for medical attention, an ambulance was promptly summoned, and he was transported to a nearby hospital. This tumultuous episode unfolded against the backdrop of a crime scene where a tragic shooting had occurred, adding an additional layer of complexity to the already fraught situation

"After receiving approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct human trials, thousands of prospective patients have shown interest in being guinea pigs for Neuralink, wrote Ashlee Vance for Bloomberg. Vance also wrote a biography on Elon Musk in 2015.
The FDA had initially rejected the company’s request to run human trials back in 2022, citing safety concerns.
The clinical trial involves implanting electrodes and super thin wires into a patient's brain and requires that a part of the skull be removed to insert a computer the size of a quarter. This implant aims to read and analyze the person's brain activity and transmit this information wirelessly to a nearby device like a laptop or tablet."
