"After receiving approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct human trials, thousands of prospective patients have shown interest in being guinea pigs for Neuralink, wrote Ashlee Vance for Bloomberg. Vance also wrote a biography on Elon Musk in 2015.

The FDA had initially rejected the company’s request to run human trials back in 2022, citing safety concerns.

The clinical trial involves implanting electrodes and super thin wires into a patient's brain and requires that a part of the skull be removed to insert a computer the size of a quarter. This implant aims to read and analyze the person's brain activity and transmit this information wirelessly to a nearby device like a laptop or tablet."

On June 13, 2023, EEI Chair Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, spoke with renowned technologist and engineer Elon Musk about the future of electrification driven, in part, by electric vehicles. The dynamic conversation took place during EEI 2023 in Austin, Texas

Elon Musk opened up a discussion with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by staunchly defending himself against accusations of antisemitism.

“Obviously I’m against antisemitism. I’m against anti-anything that promotes hate and conflict,” Musk said in a broadcast conversation with Netanyahu at Tesla Inc.’s offices in Fremont, California, and streamed on X, the social media platform owned by Musk and formerly known as Twitter.

Netanyahu said he hoped Musk would find it “within the confines of the First Amendment to limit antisemitism and hate,” acknowledging that it’s “not an easy task.”

Musk said that “on any given day, there are 100 million to 200 million posts to the system,” and said while it was hard to “police that in advance,” he could take steps to “deamplify. We’re not going to promote hate speech because probably that’s not what people are going to want hear,” he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Elon Musk are scheduled to spend an hour-long live broadcast discussing antisemitism and judicial reform when they meet in Silicon Valley later today.

The conversation will be streamed on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, according to an agenda released to reporters on Monday.

The broadcast provides an opportunity for Netanyahu and Musk to respond to months of intense public criticism. Musk has been in an escalating row with the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil rights group he accuses of undermining X’s advertising revenue. The ADL has, together with other civil rights watchdogs, highlighted a rise in extremist content on the platform after Musk took it over last year and fired most of its staff. Musk has said on X he’s “pro free speech” but against “antisemitism of any kind.”

Starlink is SpaceX’s answer to providing global, high-speed internet coverage using a network of thousands of satellites buzzing around the planet in a region known as low Earth orbit (LEO), about 342 miles above the Earth’s surface. SpaceX launched its first batch of Starlink satellites back in 2019, and since then, adoption of the service has ballooned. Starlink now has over 2 million active customers and is available on all 7 continents and in over 60 countries. Starlink has been praised for its ability to connect remote parts of the world that would otherwise not have access to reliable internet. The service has also become indispensable in areas hit by natural disasters, and, more recently, during times of war, particularly the Russia-Ukraine war. But Starlink’s growing influence is garnering condemnation from some who say that SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk is meddling in geopolitics, while the scientific community is raising alarms of the effect of thousands of satellites on radio and optical astronomy.

Something weird was turning heads at the NFL game between the Miami Dolphins and the Lost Angeles Chargers this past Sunday. AI robots were seen sitting in the stands, seemingly taking in the action. Their facial expressions didn’t look especially friendly but they were cheering for big plays and dolling out high-fives to bewildered humans around them. It was actually all just a publicity stunt for an upcoming sci-fi movie called ‘The Creator”. It mostly likely did its job as a publicity stunt for the Creator. But in a world where AI is advancing at an unsettling pace, it might have hit a bit close to home. You never know who, or what, might be sitting next to you in the near future.
